This letter is in regards to a job that Vulan Waterproofing Company did in my home. First we felt we were conned by the salesman. He told us that this company was very reputable, and did very good work. He told us they were doing another job in a nearby town and we would save a lot of money if we signed a contract with him. The contract was a total lie and the price, we later found out, was very high.
The job Vulcan Waterproofing Company did was very messy and dust and dirt were everywhere. They did a lot of damage to my wife's beauty shop. The topper was when it rained: the walls still leaked on to the floor and the barrel that the entry pipe led to never got any water in it. They tried to tell us that the barrel would only fill up once 30,000 gallons of water were in the system.
We contacted the Better Business Buraeu and found that Vulcan Waterproofing Company had about 40 complaints against them. We called to complain and they sent people out in an attempt to fix the many problems caused by their company's incompetence. Over and over their people came out but nothing ever got fixed. The owner of the company swears he is not the owner and when we call his secretary says he isn't in. We would have to go to another phone and pretend to be someone else just to talk to him.
We finally got fed up and fired them when they failed to show up at their scheduled appointment for about the 10th time. They didn't even try to get the rest of the money we owed them.
When we called Woods Basement Systems we found out what a difference a professionaly run company can make. They showed up promptly, did their job quickly and efficiently and there was almost no dust. They caused no damage and cleaned up after themselves. We are impressed with the quality concrete work they did.
Most importantly Woods Basement Systems solution worked right away the first time it rained and it continues to work. When the Woods team dug up the floor to lay their system around the perimeter of the basement, they discovered why Vulcan's system never worked. The pipe that Vulan layed did not connect all the way around the perimeter of the basement so it would fill with water but never drain out. We are very pleased with the Job that Woods Basement Systems did and would recommend them to anyone that needed waterproofing. It is nice to see that some companies are still trustworthy.
