There was a moldy situation in Winslow, IN, that was a bit different than the rest of the job sites we have been to before.  A preschool reached out to us in hopes of creating a safe and clean place for the children to play. There was mold on all corners and walls of the basement, mainly located on the bottom.  It is beneficial to remove the mold before any health problems occur.  When mold spores find the right combination of temperature, food source, and moisture - they grow. Some mold spores produce a chemical byproduct called mycotoxins, which can affect our respiratory systems and can make us sick. If mycotoxins are produced, they can sometimes be detected by their musty signature smell.  The airflow of the basement would need to be dry for mold spores to vanish. 

All mold in the basement was scrubbed and sprayed away through mold remediation. To protect the walls and brighten the basement, BrightWall paneling was installed on all walls of the basement. Brightwall gives it that clean, semi-finished touch. The TripleSafe sump pump was put in to pump out any water that enters the basement, along with a Waterguard system to direct water to the sump pump.  A big dehumidifier, called the SaniDry Sedona, was plugged in to create a continuous airflow throughout the basement. The homeowner was relieved to know that their preschool would be safe for future days and mold-free!

The walls of the basement needed to be waterproofed, so the CleanSpace Wall System was set in place. Covering your basement walls with the CleanSpace wall system economically brightens your house. The homeowners were planning on adding their wall paneling to the bottom halves of the basement walls. A Waterguard system was installed alongside the basement walls to ensure that if any water were entering in, then it would be directed to the TripleSafe sump pump that was put in. Once the basement waterproofing was finished, the room’s atmosphere felt tranquil and the homeowners were pleased.

Tree roots grow in search of water and t will grow near the foundation since the pipes in your basement or crawl space consist of water. As the roots begin to grow, it pushes on the foundation, creating bowing walls and more issue. In this family's basement, their walls began to bow, creating long cracks on the green wall. Another problem the basement had was water leakage that needed to be repaired. The family was ready to create a useful and safe place for them to additionally use. 

To repair the issue of the bowing walls, a GeoLock Wall Anchor system was set in place. It is engineered to stop wall failure permanently and performs in any soil type. It utilizes plates buried in the soil outside your wall that has up to 480 square inches of bearing surface. Once that was completed. CleanSpace was put on the walls to provide a vapor barrier to drain water behind and lead it to the WaterGuard system below that was installed in the ground. The WaterGuard system directs water to the SuperSump pump. The SuperSump pump will then empty the water outside. Once the bowing walls were straightened and the space was waterproofed, the family was thrilled to begin using the space for personal use.
