These Beaverton, MI customers called because they were interested in crawl space insulation and an encapsulation. As you can see in the before photo, they already had a system in place, but sadly, it wasn’t getting the job done. Many use plastic tarps like these to encapsulate their crawl spaces. The problem is they’re not guaranteed to keep water out, at least, not like our CleanSpace system. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that is impenetrable by moisture.
Seen in the after photo, the liner covers the entire dirt floor, one of the most common places for moisture to enter crawl spaces. To give the customers the insulation they were looking for, the crew also installed the silver wall panels in the after photo. These panels are referred to as our SilverGlo Wall Insulation. The silver surface reflects heat back to its source, just like the radiant barriers placed behind car windshields. With these two systems in place, this crawl space is now protected from moisture and abnormal temperatures.
David and Marie are retiring soon and moving up North. When they went in the home, they noticed a musty odor. They called Ayers for an inspection and we saw that there was no standing water at the time, but there were signs of some water intrusion at some point. Our crew determined that David and Marie would need CleanSpace to properly address their concerns.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along basement and crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home.
David and Marie were thrilled to be able to get this taken care of and have to musty scent gone before they officially move in. They were more than pleased with the work performed by Ayers and can’t wait to start their retired lives together.
Dirt crawl spaces are a pain to deal with. They let in outside elements such as water, cold air and bugs - all things no one wants in their home. The first step to eliminating these problems is fixing the water leakage by having a sump pump installed. The next step is isolating the house from the earth. This is where our CleanSpace system that is shown in the picture, works great. It encapulates the entire crawl space making sure no water, bugs, or unwanted cold/hot air can get in. The third step is to make sure all windows and vents are properly sealed off to the outside as well. Lastly, you want to condition or dehumidify the crawl space air. We have a great unit for this called the SaniDry Sedona, also pictured. It's efficient at stopping mold growth and getting rid of that musty smell.
Pat had water coming into his crawl space. He needed it sealed off and encapsulated before the moisture caused any serious damage. Our team came out and installed CleanSpace, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and an EverLast Crawl Space Door. Typical wood crawl space doors can deteriorate over time and can allow insects and other pests to get in your crawl space. Not to mention, wood leaves room for outside air which makes the space cold and damp. Everlast doors are made from thick PVC Plastic and secured with weatherproof knobs. Unlike wood, it won't shrink or deteriorate over time and it won't require any maintenance. Once installed, the door will ensure that your space is sealed off from outside intrusions and keeps the space warm. CleanSpace is an uninterrupted vapor barrier designed to keep out any unwanted pests, moisture, and mold. This barrier restricts airflow and therefore makes controlling the temperature of the home much easier. CleanSpace is applied to the floors and walls and wrapped around pillars and piers carefully to ensure that the space looks clean and refreshed. The SaniDry Sedona is more powerful than any other dehumidifier and drains automatically so you don't have to worry about emptying the water yourself. It will control the humidity and make sure to stop mold growth, kill dust mites, and make your whole house healthier. This way Pat won’t have to worry about any more moisture getting into his space or any further damage that the moisture could cause. His basement will be encapsulated and protected against any moisture that may intrude into his space.
Sally C. and her fiancé built an addition on their home that was built above the crawl space. During the cold, winter months, they were experiencing drafts in the room located above that space. Without an encapsulated and insulated crawl space, this would continue to be a problem for these homeowners and they needed an easy and effective way to fix it.
Our team of experts decided to install SilverGlo panels, CleanSpace and an EverLast door.
We first installed the SilverGlo wall panels that reflect heat back into the space and prevent drafts in the home. These wall panels are made from inorganic materials that make them moisture and mold resistant.
The waterproof and vapor proof CleanSpace liner was installed next to seal the crawl space off from any type of moisture. The liner is extremely durable and securely fastened to the walls to prevent it from falling down or becoming damaged over time.
Lastly, we installed an EverLast crawl space door to create an airtight barrier between the outside environment and the crawl space. The door is waterproof and made with inorganic materials that will protect it from rust, rot and mold.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
