Water was entering a homeowner’s basement through cracks in her walls. After she called our team to discuss waterproofing options, we installed the CleanSpace Basement Finishing Wall System. This system will prevent any more water intrusion. Using a poly sheet material to completely cover your basement foundation walls, this system acts as a vapor and moisture barrier. The material is waterproof, stain resistant and can be applied over many different types of surfaces. This system was perfect for this homeowner and put a stop to all water intrusion in her basement immediately.

Ryan knew when he moved into his new house, he needed to do something about the nasty crawl space. He wasn't sure what to do, so he called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Jeff called up Ayers for a crawl space renovation. After inspection, our Ayers System Design Specialist decided CleanSpace would do the trick. They even decided to install our Drainage Matting to ensure it stays dry. 

CleanSpace utilizes a durable, thick plastic liner that runs along the crawl space. It contains a vapor barrier, protecting it from excess moisture that can lead to bacteria or mold growth. Our Drainage Matting is lined underneath the CleanSpace plastic liner. This dimpled mat allows water to pass underneath making sure it reaches the drain.

Dirt crawl spaces with a musty smell are a pretty common problem we tackle here at Ayers. So, what makes the crawl space so damn and unpleasant?  Moisture from the ground. Soil naturally contains some water, but as the soil dries up in the crawl space, it releases that moisture in the form of water vapor. Along with groundwater leakage, the water in the crawl space contributes to humidity, which is where mold grows. These mold spores are carried through the air, and since we all know air rises, it’s carried upstairs.

The best way to eliminate water vapor in your crawl space is to encapsulate it. CleanSpace, and thick, antimicrobial crawl space liner seals off the space from the earth.
