This homeowner was dealing with water pooling around his home and seeping into his basement, causing water damage, so he called HomeSpec to make it better.
Our team of experts decided that a interior French drain system with a sump pump would be the best solution. The drain will collect the water coming in and funnel it to the sump pump, which will then expel the water away from the home.
Our sump pump system is a powerful force with two pumps and a battery backup pump in case of power loss. The pumps can discharge thousands of gallons of water every hour, keeping the home safe and dry!
A Hudson, MI homeowner saw that there was water coming through the vertical cracks of their basement walls. This concern led the homeowner to call HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for an inspection. The senior project manager, Ben, did a walk-through of the house as well as a walk-around to understand the full extent of the situation. There were more concerns than just water leaking through the basement wall cracks, the walls needed to be stabilized to prevent more cracks from forming as well as bowing, buckling, or tilting inwards. The homeowner agreed to repairs that would waterproof and stabilize the basement and HomeSpec scheduled their crews to return.
This Hudson, MI received a complete makeover. The foremen who led the work were Ryan and Eleftherios. Some of the products HomeSpec used include the PowerBrace™ Wall Repair System to stabilize the foundation, WaterGuard® interior drainage system to collect leaking water, a new Sump Pump to expel the water collected, IceGuard® to prevent the discharge from freezing, CleanSpace® to encapsulate the walls, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to control excess moisture and mold growth. A couple in Trenton, MI noticed that water was coming through a crack in the basement consistently. Elon, a project manager for HomeSpec, went out to the home and evaluated both the interior and exterior. He was able to see where the water was coming from and come up with a repair plan. He worked with the homeowners to come up with a plan that they approved of. Together, they decided to fix the crack using high pressure urethane injections, meaning the space behind the crack would be filled so water could no longer leak through. They also decided to waterproof the basement using special WaterGuard® french drains that would connect to a new sump pump. This plan was made a reality by two HomeSpec teams led by Brandon and Domonique. The homeowners were very happy with their work!
There is no sugar coating this – this foundation was in BAD shape. The homeowner bought the house in Grosse Ile, Michigan with intentions to fix it up and repair the obvious issues in the basement. First of all, water would seep through the block walls and leak into the basement. The walls were covered in stains making them look very unsightly. The walls were also severely cracked and bowing inward, which is dangerous for the entire structure.
The homeowner didn't want to cut corners, she wanted everything repaired properly and permanently. After Project Manager Mark Buhr developed a repair plan, Foreman Jerry Blevins and his crew got to work.
The foundation walls first needed to be excavated and pushed back as into place. Then a Carbon Fiber System was installed to stabilized the walls and prevent them from moving again. To solve the water issues, a WaterGuard Below Floor Drainage System was installed around the perimeter of the basement to prevent water intrusion. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was installed over the walls to prevent moisture and water vapor from entering, but instead directs it down into the drainage system. Lastly, we installed our SilverGlo Insulation to seal the rim joists.
The homeowner sincerely thanked HomeSpec for making a serious, tiring issue get fixed so smoothly and quickly.
