Recently, we were sent out to a home in Forked River, NJ to remove a raccoon that had infested the customers attic. When we arrived and inspected the home, we discovered that the raccoon completely ripped off the customers gable vent! This isn't uncommon because over time, the gable vents get weathered and nuisance wildlife have no trouble ripping away the gable vents to find shelter inside a home.
In order to safely retrieve the raccoon, we installed a positive set over the gable vent, temporarily enclosed the area off with hardware cloth, and set up several baited devices nearby. A positive set is made up of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone is going to safely guide the raccoon into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the raccoon will enter the device! As a matter of fact, a short while later, we successfully retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a humane environment!
To prevent reinfestation from any additional raccoons, we installed a brand new gable vent and then enclosed it off with a louvered vent guard. This material is made out of heavy-duty Galvannealed steel, which means that it won't rust. It is also customized to accommodate the shape and size of the newly installed gable vent and will properly secure the area from all nuisance wildlife!
We were sent out to a new client in Sewaren, NJ to handle an emergency situation with yellow jackets. The location was at a cell tower and a little while ago, as one of the workers opened the router box, he came face-to-face with a large yellow jacket nest! Unfortunately, he got stung several times and had to be sent to hospital.
The first thing we did was put on our protective bee suit and then injected a knockdown dusting application into the yellow jacket nest. We then waited several moments and also injected a knockdown aerosol product. These two treatments are designed to exterminate the yellow jackets quickly. Several moments later, we removed the nest, disposed of it, and cleaned the area.
Now that we successfully and safely retrieved all the skunks that were harboring underneath this homeowners shed and relocated them to a humane environment, we need to make sure that the skunks, and other nuisance wildlife, don't reinfest that area.
To do this, we dug a 12 inch deep trench and then installed hardware cloth. The hardware cloth is installed 12 inches deep and 12 inches out from the bottom of the shed. This creates a sturdy "L shaped" perimeter that will prevent skunks, and other nuisance wildlife, from digging and nesting underneath the shed.
This customer in Toms River, NJ, had an infestation of yellow jackets in their home. They were actually nesting in a small crack in the siding about 20 feet up from the ground. Previously, our Pest Control division came out and eliminated the yellow jackets, but the issue of the crack in siding needs to be resolved ASAP.
So our Nuisance Wildlife Division came out and installed sturdy metal flashing over the opening and secured it in place. This will not only prevent future intrusions from pests, but also rodents, squirrels, bats, and birds too!
This family in Keyport, NJ, was being terrorized by yellow jackets! They couldn't enjoy spending time outside on the back porch because the yellow jackets were harboring inside a small piece of wood underneath the joist of the deck! Fortunately, her neighbor is a current customer and referred Cowleys and we were sent out to eliminate these aggressive stinging insects.
After we equipped our protective bee suit, we grabbed our extendable pole, attached a knockdown dusting application to it, and applied it directly into the area where the yellow jackets were harboring. This treatment will exterminate the yellow jackets almost immediately. A short while later, we removed the nest, disposed of it, and then applied a residual application to the area. This product will eliminate any yellow jackets that return to this area as well as prevent them from building another nest.
