Many companies still like to use fiberglass as insulation in a crawlspace, but since it is made to exist within a six sided box, a crawlspaces environment doesn't work for it. The access to moisture and critters causes many issues. It is an inviting bedding material for some animals, and also absorbs moisture, holding it against wooden portions of the foundation, leading to mold and mildew. This homes fiberglass was falling down from moisture and had mold spores. After clearing the crawlspace, we applied mold X and did a full encapsulation to give this home insulation made to last!
Fiberglass insulation absorbs water and droops from the weight. It grows mold and mildew, and can be an inviting nesting material for critters. With so many reasons not to use it, we are proud to provide proper insulation to another home. Ultimately keeping it dry, healthy, and lowering its heating and cooling costs.
