The customer had mold in his crawl space and water. Our crew went in and removed all the debris and mold from the crawl space. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump and a SaniDry Sedona so he never has to worry about water and mold again.
This customer called because he had a musty smell in his house that he couldn't get to go away. Upon further investigating, they discovered it was originating from beneath the house. So they gave us a call to have one of our inspectors come out and take a look at what was going on. Our inspector found sagging old fiberglass insulation with a torn vapor barrier. Water and debris had been getting in the crawlspace causing mud, dirt, and moisture damage to the posts and beams. The musty smell was moving up thru the house. We recommended doing a crawlspace encapsulation to prevent future water problems from happening. We cleaned out the crawlspace and sealed the vents, the crew then laid down our Terrablock that is a matting underneath the CleanSpace that completely seals in the crawlspace.
CleanSpace vapor barrier installed in a crawl space in Lake Oswego, Oregon showing the distinct difference between a dirty crawl space with the old 6 mil barrier and the 20 mil CleanSpace encapsulation.
This home had a wet, nasty crawlspace that had mold growth and an old sump pump just sitting in a 5-gallon bucket. Nothing close to a professional job! The homeowner was shown how John's Waterproofing could create a clean environment and even add extra storage because of the height of the crawlspace that was present. Our encapsulation system will create a dry and healthy space to keep mold from growing as well as filter and clean the air.
To collect ground water we installed a perforated pipe in a silt sock. This then has TerraBlock insulation and a CleanSpace vapor barrier installed over it.
