In the first photo we can see a clearly failing sump pump and drainage system, as show from the visible floor cracks and stains across the floor from prolonged water damage. To rectify this problem, we utilized our French drain system alongside our triple safe sump pump solution. The French drain collects water along the perimeter of the wall and diverts it seamlessly into our revitalized drainage basin/ new sump pump. This particular sump pump solution includes 3 pumps total. A primary pump, a secondary in case the water inflow turns out to be overwhelming for the first, and a battery backup system to remain operational in times of power outages.
A homeowner in Sterling Heights, MI with a leaking crack in their wall called us out to fill them and give them peace of mind that the walls would no longer be damaged due to the leaking rod holes.
A Sterling Heights, MI homeowner noticed multiple leaks throughout their unfinished basement. While there were no visible cracks, it was clear that water intrusion was still occurring. Their primary concern was the water getting into the basement near the electrical box. They did not want to risk things worsening, so they contacted HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair.
Jeremiah, a project manager for HomeSpec, inspected the basement and devised solutions for the homeowner’s concerns. He discussed his ideas with the homeowner and together they finalized a plan. The homeowner agreed to install a new sump pump which would connect to an interior drainage system using WaterGuard® French drains. Additionally, CleanSpace® wall vapor barrier would be installed to protect the walls and the electrical box. A team led by Brandon completed these projects aside from the plumbing which was done by Rick. The homeowner approved of their work and was happy with the final results.
Homeowners in Troy, MI saw that water was intruding in a corner where the wall meets the floor. They tried to dry the carpet out themselves, but, unfortunately, the damage had already been done in the Florida room and additional damages had occurred in the basement beneath it. The homeowners had plans to renovate so they could use the Florida room more often but knew they would have to fix the water problems first. So, they called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair.
HomeSpec’s senior project manager, Erik, inspected the residence and recommended different repairs for different sections. For the Florida room, he suggested using ThermalDry® Elite Plank Flooring and interior and exterior waterproofing for the basement. The homeowners approved of this plan and chose the color gray for the waterproof flooring that was installed in both spaces. Due to the large scope of the project, multiple HomeSpec teams were scheduled to do the installations and were led by the foremen Vernon, Jim, and Jon. When the work was complete, the homeowners were happy to know their home was protected and usable again.
A homeowner in Troy, MI had us install a drainage system on three of the four walls in their basement to prevent leaking in 2018, but now, water is leaking through the wall which we didn't install the system on and they wanted us to come out and finish waterproofing the entire basement.
