A homeowner in Pontiac, MI was getting sick and tired of cleaning up leaking water all of the time. The water was intruding where the wall meets the floor in their basement. This homeowner was not going to wait for things to get worse and instead called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for an inspection. 

HomeSpec’s Senior Project Manager, Ted, visited the home to provide the inspection. After evaluating the situation, he recommended an interior drainage system, IDS, to capture the water from the basement, a sump pump, and a new sump discharge so the captured water could be pumped out and expelled numerous feet away from the house. To do all of this would require temporarily relocating the clothing washer, dryer, and laundry tub. The homeowner agreed with the proposal and a team was scheduled to return at a later date.

The crew was led by Foreman Jon and Plumber Rick. When they arrived on the scene, it became clear that there was a bit of a problem. This basement had a footer that created a stairstep effect. Because of this, the wall did not meet where the new interior drainage system would be installed in the floor. To solve this problem, the crew used waterproofing material, called Wallie, to capture water from above the footing and lead it into the IDS below. They continued with the remainder of the installation, leaving the basement dry and tidy. The homeowner was very happy with the entire experience and left a five-star review on Google.

This homeowner was experiencing large vertical cracks in their basement floors and walls and it was causing them greater foundation concerns, this led them to do some research into the possible solutions for their foundation needs. That's when we came in and applied High Powered Urethane Crack Injection in order to permanently seal the cracks and restore their peace of mind.

A couple in Macomb, MI has lived in a house for the last 23 years, since it was built. Unfortunately, there has been water leaking in the basement through a concrete foundation wall. They knew that if their children were to inherit the house they would want to take care of any and all issues first. They definitely did not want to leave mold or potential for more to grow. To get their basement assessed, the homeowners called HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation Repair.

HomeSpec sent Chris B., an inspector, for the evaluation. He did a walkthrough of the home and a lap around the outside to get a full understanding of the condition. After speaking with the homeowners about their concerns, he provided some suggestions. A sump pump and WaterGuard® drainage system would capture the water and pump it away from the home while the Everlast Wall Restoration System would prevent future leaks and insulate the space. The foreman, Brandon H., led the team in getting the work done efficiently. After installing the interior drainage system the crew turned their attention to the Everlast Wall Restoration System. They carefully removed the bottom portion of the basement walls and fitted the waterproofing material into place. The team used baseboards to finish the project and tidied up after themselves. The homeowners were pleased with the final results, a dry and beautiful basement.

This homeowner wanted to have their walls finished and the WaterGuard Drainage System installed in their basement so they could remodel it in peace without the worry of water damage to their belongings. 

These Drayton Plains homeowners contacted HomeSpec because water was seeping into their basement in two ways: 1) Through cracks and rod holes in the foundation walls 2) Through the joint where the floors and walls meet. 

Their project manager and inspector decided that after the cracks and rod holes were repaired, the best route to waterproof the basement would be a WaterGuard® Below Floor Drain. This installs around the perimeter of the basement to stop water intrusion from the walls and said joint. This was connected to a SaniDry™ XP Dehumidifier and a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System. This system will keep the basement dry and pump water far from the foundation.

A CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier for unfinished walls was installed as well to block moisture and water vapor from entering the basement, and instead directs in to the drainage system. This Drayton Plains home now has the ultimate protection against water intrusion, and the homeowners couldn't be any more pleased.
