A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire wants to turn her basement into a living space. Before being able to use the space as a music and workout room, she wanted to make sure the basement would stay dry all the time. Creating a waterproofed basement was essential to ensure that damaged personal belongings would not occur.
After reaching out to our team, Design Specialist, John Prince, went out to the home to conduct a free home inspection. After completing the inspection, John recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and TripleSafe sump pump system. This system is designed to intercept water before entering the foundation and pump it out of the home. The WaterGuard system is installed along the perimeter of the foundation to collect water before being exposed to the basement walls or floor, and then diverting it to the sump pump. The sump pump system sits in a basin where water is collected and pumps the water out of the home through an exterior discharge line. IceGuard was attached to the discharge line to prevent it from freezing. A frozen drainage line can lead to water backup, resulting in a potential basement flood.
With this system installed, the homeowner can use the living space with peace of mind knowing that her music and workout equipment are safe from leaks and flooding!
