Mark and Sharron of Miltona, MN, noticed musty, damp smells coming from their dirt crawlspace. They knew the importance of encapsulating their crawlspace to protect against odors, rodents, insects, and more, especially since they planned to keep their lake home long. After researching, they decided to call American Waterworks and were set up with a FREE inspection. Our Design Specialist, Ian, headed to the property a few weeks later. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended how American Waterworks could help. Our customers agreed with the recommendations, and work began shortly after. 

Our Foreman, Ryan, and his crew began by installing our drainage matting, a dimpled mat that is installed onto the floor of the crawl space. This gives any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. The second installation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that traps any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. 

Finally, our team added an Aprilaire dehumidifier, which creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. This and our crawl space liner will create a drier, healthier crawl space. Our crawl space liner is made with seven layers of tough, durable material designed to withstand traffic from the homeowner and workers -- with a 25-year written, transferable warranty! Joe, a homeowner in Nevis, MN, realized that his crawl spaces needed attention. Inadequate or incorrect crawl space insulation can cause a number of comfort and energy problems.  Our Foreman, Arturo, and his crew began the project by clearing debris and readying the spaces for installation. They then installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water Issues. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier installed right onto the problem walls and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The crew also used spray foam to seal and waterproof the homeowner's crawl space. Our spray foam is designed to keep the heat inside and prevent cool air from coming in. Joe was grateful for the support and guidance of American Waterworks in protecting his home!

Tom A. of Ottertail, MN was looking for a contractor that could seal his crawl space. He saw our crawl space commercial on television, so he called our office line and got a FREE estimate scheduled with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to Tom's home, carefully examined his crawl space, and determined the solution of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Vapor Barrier. Tom was confident in our proposal, so he got a date scheduled for the installation of the project. 

Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team installed 825 feet of our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, which is designed to prevent mold growth, humidity, and water moisture from coming into his crawl space. It also gives the crawl space a bright, clean appearance. Tom was happy with the outcome of the project!

Deb and her family built an addition onto their cabin in Osage, MN. However, the older part of the cabin where the bedrooms are had sagging floors and she knew they needed additional support in to be safe. Deb decided to call American Waterworks to claim her FREE estimate. This entitled Deb to a free home inspection. Once the appointment was set, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed to the property and began a thorough home inspection to properly diagnose the space and propose a proper solution. Kole found by examining the crawlspace underneath the floors that they were improperly supported, so he proposed that Deb and her family invest in our SmartJack solution. Deb agreed and set an appointment to get started.

Our Foreman and his crew headed out to the property and got to work. By using 3 SmartJacks, 8 Joist Assist Brackets, and a 16ft Supplemental Beam in the crawlspace below, the team was able to stabilize the floors permanently. Our SmartJack system is made to provide support for oversized or sagging beams, restoring stability and straightness. This system is also unique in that it's made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel, so rusting isn't a worry.
