Missy T. of Cushing, MN had water seeping into her crawl space, causing her to worry about pests, water moisture and humidity, and the overall value of her home. She called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton. Eric went to her home, carefully inspected her crawl space, and drew up a detailed solution that would fit her home repair needs and budget. Our Co-Foreman, Aaron Engen, and his crew began the project by installing our CleanSpace Moisture Vapor Barrier. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is a heavy-duty protectant that is used in the encapsulation process to transform the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. Next, our team installed our SmartDrain Drain System, which is a crawl space drain that includes a bottomless liner and an airtight lid. If a plumbing failure occurs, our SmartDrain will drain the water beneath the vapor barrier, preventing it from collecting in the crawl space. Lastly, our team applied spray foam around the floor cracks, which provides a dry and warm crawl space, while also reducing energy costs. Missy was happy with the work that was done and had a great experience from start to finish!

Mark and Sharron of Miltona, MN, noticed musty, damp smells coming from their dirt crawlspace. They knew the importance of encapsulating their crawlspace to protect against odors, rodents, insects, and more, especially since they planned to keep their lake home long. After researching, they decided to call American Waterworks and were set up with a FREE inspection. Our Design Specialist, Ian, headed to the property a few weeks later. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended how American Waterworks could help. Our customers agreed with the recommendations, and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Ryan, and his crew began by installing our drainage matting, a dimpled mat that is installed onto the floor of the crawl space. This gives any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. The second installation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that traps any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site.
Finally, our team added an Aprilaire dehumidifier, which creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. This and our crawl space liner will create a drier, healthier crawl space. Our crawl space liner is made with seven layers of tough, durable material designed to withstand traffic from the homeowner and workers -- with a 25-year written, transferable warranty! Mark and Sharron were very pleased with the results and grateful their peace of mind was restored.

Our Foreman, Arturo, and his crew began the project by clearing debris and readying the spaces for installation. They then installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water Issues. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier installed right onto the problem walls and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The crew also used spray foam to seal and waterproof the homeowner's crawl space.
