A Tomah, WI, homeowner had been eyeing his basement walls for some time now. He could have sworn that, over time, the wall had slowly been showing signs of tilting inward. The homeowner didn't know of any local foundation repair companies, but on the recommendation of a friend, decided to call American Waterworks and set up a FREE estimate. Several weeks later, one of our Design Specialist was headed out to the home.
When our Design Specialist arrived, he wasted no time getting down into the basement to examine the wall and the foundation of the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his results.
He began by saying that foundation walls are designed to withstand pressure from above, not from the side. So, when the pressure on the side of the wall exceeds what the wall can withstand, homeowners will see bowing, cracking, sliding in at the bottom, or tilting inward at the top. Our Design Specialist then reassured the homeowner that while this issue seems daunting, the solution is relatively simple and non-invasive. Our Design Specialist wanted to use our CarbonArmor wall reinforcing system. He explained that CarbonArmor is a state-of-the-art solution used to fix cracked and bowing foundation walls. It's comprised of epoxy and carbon fiber to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls. While this method does not restore a bowed wall, it will halt further movement and cracks. The homeowner was happy with our recommendation, and decided to sign on the spot.
On the day of the installation, our crew, led by their Foreman Chris N, worked hard to install 7 CarbonArmor straps throughout the basement and on the wall in question. When the process had been completed, our homeowner was thrilled to know that he could put his foundation worries in the past!
Cy S. in Viroqua, WI contacted American Waterworks because he had water in his basement and his new addition. He met with one of our Design Specialists, who proposed that the best solution was to install a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system and a SuperSump sump pump.
Our Foreman, Arturo Mares, and his crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system. They removed a section of the concrete floor around the perimeter and created a drainage trench. The WaterGuard is then placed within the trench and filled back with rock to fill the gaps. They also installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls to protect the room from moisture and potential mold growth. The encapsulation system will now guide water leaking in through the foundation walls and redirect it to their WaterGuard perimeter floor drainage system and ultimately drain into the SuperSump sump pump. Cy is pleased that his basement is now a dry, healthier space and he is glad he chose to invest in the long-term protection of his home.

A homeowner in Viroqua, WI, noticed various wet spots throughout their basement. Knowing they needed professional assistance, the homeowners began searching for the best waterproofing company near them. One of the first companies to catch their eye was us, American Waterworks. The homeowner read previous job stories and was convinced we were the best company to work with. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Dustin, to check out the basement. Dustin arrived and introduced himself to the homeowner. The homeowner directed Dustin to the problem area in the basement. After completing his walkthrough of the basement, Dustin was able to provide the homeowner with a recommended solution. Dustin suggested installing CleanSpace and an Aprilaire in the muggy basement. The homeowner agreed with Dustin's recommendations and the plans were sent to our Logistics team for approval. Once they earned the stamp of approval, the plans were directed to our Foreman, Francisco, and his crew. Francisco and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First, they began by installing CleanSpace on all the basement walls. After the CleanSpace was secured, they shifted their focus to installing an Aprilaire in the home. Once the Aprilaire was secured into place, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was pleased with the wonderful work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is glad to dehumidify another home.
A new homeowner from Ferryville, WI, was making some updates to his new property. The home had a crawl space below, and the new owner knew that if his crawl space wasn't properly encapsulated, it would not only make the home energy inefficient but could take on unwanted water and even critters. He took to the internet to search for the 'best crawl space repair near me', and found our website. He looked through similar crawl space projects we had done in his area and was impressed with what he saw, so he signed up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist made a stop at his home.
Our Design Specialist got right to work evaluating the crawl space. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, our Design Specialist recommended our CleanSpace for crawl space. Our CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof vapor barrier that gets applied directly to the unfinished walls of the crawl space. It works to trap any water entering through holes or cracks in the wall, directing it downward. To pair with the CleanSpace, our Design Specialist recommended our drainage matting. This matting gets installed below the CleanSpace on the crawl space floor. The dimpled matting allows any water collected by the CleanSpace a channel to flow to a disposal site such as a sump pump or discharge line. Finally, our Design Specialist informed the homeowner that even a basement with an effective waterproofing system can still develop moisture and mold problems and may feel damp. Concrete walls and floors continually absorb moisture from the soil and release it into the air in your basement, and store-bought dehumidifiers simply aren't strong enough to solve the problem. For this reason, he wanted to use our AprilAire dehumidifier. Adding an Aprilaire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% RH. The homeowner agreed to the proposed work and scheduled the job for some time later.
The day of the installation rolled around, and our team, led by their Foreman, Raul B, headed out to the home. When they had finished, they successfully installed 768 sqft of CleanSpace, 660 sqft of drainage matting, and 1 AprilAire dehumidifier. Now, our customer can enjoy his new property knowing that his home is functioning efficiently!

Homeowners in Elkader, IA wanted to get a sump pump installed in their garage because they were worried about groundwater leaking through the floor. They requested a FREE Estimate with our office staff for one of our Design Specialists to come out to their home and take a look. Our Foreman and his team cut out the concrete floor with a jackhammer, forming a hole for the sump basket, followed by the pumps.
