Homeowners in Ashland, WI has cracks in their foundation, making their basement prone to leaking. After getting foundation stabilization work done by DBS, they also decided to put in a waterproofing system.
DBS Sales Manager Royce Bunn was the Design Specialist for this project and recommended that a new drain system needed to be installed.
DBS Production Manager Kevin Steffey was the foreman on the job. He and his crew installed a new french drain system along the perimeter of the basement. This system directs all the moisture to a new TripleSafe™ sump pump. A SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was also connected to the sump pump to pull out excess moisture from the basement.
The installation was successful and provided a solid solution to pooling water in the basement!
Homeowners in Remer, MN had sinking and settling issues with their home's foundation. Both the foundation and basement concrete slab were sinking and worsening over time. Looking for a permanent solution to this issue, they did some internet research and contacted DBS.
Henrik Makitalo, a seasoned Design Specialist for DBS visited the home to provide a free, no-obligaiton estimate for the work. After a thorough inspection, Henrik determined that our Push Pier System, combined with Concrete Lifting would be the best solution.
For the piering portion of the job, DBS Foreman Kevin Steffey and his production crew first excavated soil around the piering site. The piers are then anchored to the foundation and piers are hydraulically driven into the ground until they reach competent soil. We installed 4 push piers total and completed a lift procedure to restore the garage to its original location.
DBS Foreman Jason Foster then completed an install of PolyLevel®; the lifting the spots where the garage slab itself needed support.
The homeowner was happy with the work done and now has a fully supported garage to count on!
This home was built in 1927 and had been in the owner's family since the 1940's. They noticed a slight issue with moisture in the basement but could tell it was definitely worsening and reached out to DBS for help with a permanent solution.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home, we recommended installing CleanSpace®, a vapor barrier that will direct water into a new WaterGuard® drainage system. This two products will lead water into a SuperSump® pump and out of the home.
DBS Production Manager Kevin Steffey was the foreman on the job. He and his production crew successfully installed these products along the perimeter of the basement, creating a dry and comfortable home to put the homeowners at ease!
Owners of this 100-year-old home in Duluth, MN were having issues with water and pests entering their basement. Knowing the water was most likely due to foundation issues, they reached out to DBS in search of a permanent solution.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and completed a thorough inspection. He determined that both waterproofing and foundation support systems were necessary. Breaking this project up into several small jobs, our crews installed CarbonArmor®, SmartJack®, and PowerBraces™ to stop foundation movement and restore the foundation wall positions where possible. On the waterproofing side, this home received a new WaterGuard® drain, CleanSpace® vapor barrier, and spray foam to seal the space around the basement rim joists.
This home is now safe, water-free, and supported!
This Duluth, MN homeowner has lived in their home since 1978 and first noticed issues with their Park Point basement around 20 years ago. The basement would take on water from time to time but now the problem has worsened rendering the space unusable. With rising the rising water table and presence of the harmless, yet pesky iron ochre bacteria, Park Point basements have a tall order in keeping themselves dry.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is an expert in basement waterproofing. He visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the waterproofing project, using our WaterGuard® Iron Ochre system.
Foreman Zach Royer and his production team first installed drainage matting with aggregate rock to rasie the floor a few inches and to offer ground water proper drainage. They then dug and installed the drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. This drain is meant to be exposed so that is can be easily cleaned of iron ochre build-up. CleanSpace® Wall Poly was installed on the walls and everything now flows to a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump.
Sump pumps need regular maintenance, just like a car needs regular oil changes. Especially when iron ochre is present in your water, the build-up needs to be properly cleaned or it will clog the pump system, causing water to flood in the basement. DBS has a dedicated service team that services sump pumps and waterproofing system to find any problems before they find you.
