A homeowner in Hebron called us and said they had a shifting and settling foundation that they wanted us to repair. We sent out one of our Sales Consultants, Tim Kane, to the home to assess the issues and propose a solution that will solve this problem for good! 

One of our Foremen, Sergio Alves, and his helper Jacob Scott, would tackle the installation of this job. This job required push piers. They installed multiple around the outside of the home. These piers get installed below the foundation footing where they drive steel piers into the ground to lift the home into place and stabilize it. Once it is lifted and stabilized to a certain pressure that the homeowner is satisfied with, then the crew caps off each push pier bracket. Now this home is stable and has lifted into position. 

Mark K. was complaining about a damp smell in the basement and coming from the crawl space and they were also concerned with cold floors above the crawl space. He wanted a solution, and he wanted one fast, so he gave us a call at Connecticut Basement Systems, and we were happy to come and see how we could solve his problem!

Our System Design Specialist, Ferdinand Gojani, came out to survey the space, and assess what needed to be done. The first thing he suggested was a CleanSpace Radiant Vapor Barrier. This bright, white vapor barrier completely transforms a crawl space, while also working to reduce moisture and humidity within the crawl space. It also helps seal out cold drafts in the winter, and is suitable over walls and floors. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier, which is designed to provide many years of energy-efficient, trouble-free performance, even in tough crawl space conditions. SilverGlo rigid foam insulation was also installed. This rigid foam insulation shed water instead of soaking it up like cellulose and fiberglass insulation. The best part? It doesn't support mold EVER.

Upon calling, the homeowner made contact with Sales Consultant Bret Citrin. Citrin, an expert on All Things Basementy, listened attentively to the homeowner's concerns. Scheduling a free in-home consultation to better understand the issue, Citrin diagnosed the issues the homeowner's basement was experiencing.

With a completed proposal accepted by the homeowner Foreman Luis Alas and his team arrived on-site to begin work. A waterproofing system comprised of a WaterGuard French drain, TripleSafe sump pump, and CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed providing maximum protection against basement moisture. With everything installed, the homeowner was thrilled with the results!

In an effort to fit the TripleSafe sump pump system, a new location was created near the old pump's area (see pictures for more insight). A customer in Amston, CT had been getting water in their basement for many years and finally decided to have it waterproofed. One of our Foremen, Delfino Mones, and his crew installed this waterproofing job. They began with our WaterGuard drainage system below the floors to capture water coming in from the walls/floors. Then they installed our TripleSafe sump pump to discharge the water out of the home at a safe distance. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to eliminate moisture and prevent any future mold growth. Now this basement will stay dry all the time!
