This East Haven homeowner had trouble with water entering his basement. The constant flooding would leave his basement very damp with a musty odor. He wanted to find a solution that would keep his basement dry so he would not have to deal with a flood every time it rained. He decided to give Connecticut Basement Systems a call, knowing that they are the experts in all things basementy.
On the day of the appointment, our System Design Specialist Rick Raucci, arrived at the home to give a free home evaluation. He concluded that the best solution would be to install a WaterGuard system, which will waterproof the basement. The homeowner agreed to the solution and with no time to waste, we sent Marcio Bahiense and his production team to begin the installation process.
In order to install a WaterGuard System, the perimeter of the basement floors need to be dug up. The WaterGuard is placed along the perimeter of the basement and is back filled with gravel. This allows water to flow through the WaterGuard System and the gravel instead of entering the basement. Lastly, the perimeter of the basement is paved over with cement to close up the system, as seen in the after photo.
The homeowner decided to get a SuperSump pump, which pairs perfectly with the WaterGuard System. The SuperSump Pump is where the water channeled by the WaterGuard System is poured into. The SuperSump pump takes that water and drives it away from the home through a discharge line, keeping the basement dry all year around.
Now, this East Haven homeowner enjoys a dry basement and a peace of mind during every rain fall.
