This homeowner was concerned about their basement when they started noticing more and more water coming in through one of the walls. Fortunately, the homeowner caught on to this issue before it did any real damage. They actually had heard about us from a friend, and gave us a call to come visit them! Our Systems Design Specialist proposed for a SuperSump pump system and around 40 feet of WaterGuard be installed.
The "before" photo gives a quick look at part of the basement in question. As you can see, there was not too much damage from the water at this point. But this homeowner knew that eventually it would, so they erred on the side of caution and went ahead and got it installed before the damage was done, rather than afterwards.
The "after" picture shows the same area, but after the WaterGuard had been installed. As you can see, it doesn't look like much work was done, but this homeowner didn't need to worry about water getting through this area any more. The WaterGuard is completely hidden by the floor, except for a small gap between the floor and wall of the basement.

Unfortunately, many homes have basements that are almost unusable or unsafe because of the water intrusion in their basements. This homeowner was dealing with a great deal of water intrusion, which is why they originally called us. They used their basement to store a lot of their things, most of which seemed to be paper products. Having paper products with water intrusion can be very bad, because it allows mold to grow easier and water can easily destroy documents and other papers/boxes.
The "before" photo shows what the basement looked like before any work was done for the homeowner. As you can see, the water intrusion has caused some pretty extensive damage to the floor and wall in this area. You can tell that this had been going on for awhile and something needed to be done to correct it. Fortunately, our Systems Design Specialist knew exactly what needed to be done.
The "after" picture shows what the same area looked like after our crew went to the home to install our system. The crew started by removing a few inches of concrete from the wall, as well as a large hole for the SuperSump. Once the concrete is removed, the sump pump is installed and the WaterGuard drain is put in as well. These two products work together extremely well in order to keep water out and away from the home.
WaterGuard is one of the most popular products that we install in basements and this home was no different. This homeowner noticed water getting into his finished basement when it would rain. In order to keep his finished basement beautiful and usable, he needed to have WaterGuard and a sump pump installed. In the end, he decided on two sump pumps (a SuperSump and an UltraSump), as well as over 30 feet of WaterGuard. The area near the bathroom was the main culprit of the water intrusion, so that's where a lot of the WaterGuard and a sump pump was installed.
The "before" picture shows off where the toilet usually sits. However, because there would be WaterGuard installed here, it needed to be taken out. However, even though this may be bothersome, in the long run, it is immensely beneficial.
The "after" photo shows what the area looked like after we had installed the WaterGuard. It may not be the prettiest of sights at the moment, but the good thing is that more tile can be laid. However, if this customer didn't fix this issue right away, they could have had several thousand dollars in damage, and the problem still would not have been fixed.
Since basements are below ground level, they are much more vulnerable to water intrusion and damage. This is an unfortunate reality, but it is reality nonetheless. This particular basement was having most of its water intrusion around the joint between the floor and wall. This is an extremely common issue in basements, as it is one of the weaker areas, making it easier for water to slip through.
You can see where quite a lot of water has accumulated around the base of the wall in the before photo. In this photo, it is dry at the moment, but the water/dripping streaks are extremely obvious in the photo. Towards the left side of the photo you can see even damage in the joint along the wall. This homeowner needed to get this taken care of, which is why he gave us a call.
The solution for this home's water intrusion was to install our WaterGuard drain, which helps to catch water and quickly drain it to the sump pump, which pumps the water out and away from the home. While it may not seem like much, this low-profile solution not only doesn't take up much space, but is extremely effective at preventing water from staying in the basement.
