Everything we’ve seen once, we’ve seen it a thousand times. A muddy combination basement/crawlspace like this one is old news to us. Truthfully, all basements are unique. All basements require different products to eliminate the water problem. But, essentially, all of them will have the same or similar problems. Marshy though it is this Clinton, South Carolina basement/crawlspace combination isn’t special. Make no mistake…that’s a good thing. That means that the water problem is fixable. It seems like a lost cause. Let us assure you, it is not.
Let’s flash forward to the finished product. The WaterGuard piping system is inserted below the actual floor and is secured tight against the wall. This insures that any water from the wall falls right into the piping system and none is left to pool. The piping system insures that the murky river you saw before is doesn’t happen. Now, the white plastic around the perimeter is a CleanSpace liner. It often accompanies the WaterGuard and it keeps the water contained as well. They are quite the perfect team when it comes to capturing water.

This basement in Hartwell, Georgia was having some pretty serious water intrusion issues. There was a significant amount of water coming in, which was worrying the homeowner who called after he began to notice it. Fortunately, this homeowner did not wait too long before calling us to come look at the problem. We were able to send a Systems Design Specialist out to the home to figure out the best course of action!
In order to help this homeowner solve the water issues in their basement, our Specialist inspected the basement, took pictures, and began working on a solution. The solution that he came up with included; BrightWall Paneling, our WaterGuard Drain, and a SuperSump Pump system. While this may not seem like much, these three products work together in such a way that will help keep water out of the basement.
The difference between these two photos is pretty incredible, and it was done in just a few days. The first photo shows one of the corners in this basement that has water all over the floor, and several feet up the wall, whereas the after photo looks much better. The finished product is one step closer to becoming a finished/semi-finished basement. Not only does it look better, but this homeowner doesn't have to worry about water hanging around anymore.
Water intrusion in basements is unfortunately something that we see just about every day here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. This can end up doing pretty extensive damage to the home, and the longer a homeowner waits to have the situation assessed and fixed, the more damage can happen. This is unfortunate because many homeowner don't realize that this is an extremely common problem and more than likely it is an ongoing problem, rather than just "every once in awhile".
This home actually had a good amount of water coming through the basement walls and can be seen in the first photo. There is water coming through the both the basement wall (around the platform) and the joint between the floor and wall of the basement. Since there was so much water coming into the basement, the solution was a little different from our average installation, but was still something that we do frequently!
The second photo shows the same area, but with our system in place to prevent water from staying in the home. Our system is an interior drainage system where the drain is actually in the floor along the wall. This catches the water that comes through the wall and drains it to the sump pump. The SuperSump pump system is an efficient pump system that does not take up very much room. It is able to pump out all of the water, while staying out of the way. Our crew also installed BrightWall on the wall, because it catch any water that comes through the wall and directs it to the WaterGuard.

Our crew installed a WaterGuard and CleanSpace wall system in this basement located in Great Falls, SC.
