Before & After Photos

This homeowner in Abbeville, SC had some of the most severe flooding that we have ever dealt with here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. This homeowner did not have any drainage, so when the water started pouring in, there was not much that they were able to do to keep it from flooding. Since they had to go through this tragic incident once, they knew that they needed this problem fixed as soon as possible, so it wouldn't happen a second time.

The "before" picture shows how much damage was done to this home's basement during the flooding. While this isn't the best picture, you can see a lot of mud that was pushed into the basement and was left there after the water dried up. The mud itself wasn't the biggest issue, but rather the water that pushed it there. Our main purpose for this project was not to give the water a place to drain, but rather keep the water from coming into the basement in the first place.

The "after" photo shows a much different story, this homeowner's basement is now protected! No more having to worry about their basement flooding or even leaking with this system! Between the WaterGuard that was installed, and the sump pump, this basement won't have any problems with water intrusion. The WaterGuard goes around the perimeter of the basement and collects any water seeping in through the walls. The sump pumps out all of the water that drains from the WaterGuard.

This homeowner had been dealing with some serious water intrusion issues for a long time before deciding to call us. The main reason that the homeowner had called us was because they were no longer able to pump out the amount of water in the basement and crawlspace. While this should have been looked at sooner, it was still certainly something that we would be able to take care of!

We first had to send a Systems Design Specialist out to the home in order to determine the best way to solve this homeowner's problems. Since the problems were pretty extensive, the solution that was proposed included CleanSpace, SilverGlo Insulation, 3 inch drain tile, a sump pump, and a dehumidifier for the crawlspace and WaterGuard and another sump pump for the basement.

The final part of the project was actually installing everything! The product that can be seen installed in the after photo is the WaterGuard. This is installed by removing some concrete along the wall, and then laying the WaterGuard in the trench. Then some stone is laid over the WaterGuard and finally covered with fresh concrete to leave the area just the way we left it!

Having water in a basement isn’t just an issue of aesthetics. If your basement is wet or damp, it can lead to dust mites, mold upstairs, swollen doors and windows, and buckling hardwood floors. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In the basement pictured here, there are signs of water intrusion and effervescence. Contrary to popular belief, concrete walls are not an ideal choice to keep water out of a basement. The water can actually come through the minute holes within the concrete slabs. This, of course, causes the damage seen here.

To combat this problem, we install our Clean Space Wall, a heavy, durable plastic liner. Clean Space Wall provides a vapor barrier, drains water behind it, and potentially brightens the basement.

This homeowner first called us when they noticed that the bottom of the basement walls was beginning to change color/rot. While the water intrusion was very little, over time it began to pile up and really start to make a difference. When All-Dry was able to make it over there, our specialist noticed what the issue was and the best way to fix it. Some Waterguard and a sump pump were the solutions to this homeowner's problem.

The "before" photo shows off the area infected by the water. It has already been stained by the water and was already beginning to deteriorate. This happens because the water does not have anywhere to go, so it soaks into the wood (or drywall) and as time goes on, this process just keeps being repeated.

The "after" picture is a much different story. For one, the part of paneling that had been affected by the water intrusion. However, the biggest change was the installation of the Waterguard drain system. This is what will keep this problem from reoccurring, and will prevent the homeowner from any more headaches in dealing with their wet crawlspace!

As you can see by the look of it, this Greenwood, South Carolina basement was having more than its fair share of water issues. Water would often pour through the walls and wash over the floors leaving it stained and messy. When our Design Specialist saw this he was not surprised. Many basements have water issues. The difference that separates this one from those is what you choose to do about those problems.

Take a look at our “after” photo. The idea behind the sump and the CleanSpace is to collect the water from the walls and distribute it away from the home. To do this, our Design Specialist installed our signature CleanSpace liner. It’s a 20mils thick liner that is nearly impossible to rip or tear. The pump is our patented SuperSump placed in the lowest point of the basement to collect the water as it flows to the low point. The CleanSpace actually helps direct that water to the pump, keeping out of the main floor of the basement.
