A homeowner in Pine Island, MN, was unhappy with the status of their basement. Unsure where the water was sneaking in, the homeowner knew they needed a professional opinion. A couple of years prior, the homeowner had us complete a FREE estimate at their home. Instead of reaching out to a new company, the homeowner contacted our Appointment Center and signed up for another FREE estimate. We sent Rick, one of our Design Specialists, to the home to evaluate the basement. Rick arrived and began his thorough inspection of the basement. Following his inspection, Rick recommended updating the basement waterproofing products. After deliberating, the homeowner decided this was the best route to take. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Lane, and his crew. Once they arrived, Lane and the crew installed the WaterGuard around the entire perimeter of the basement. After installing the WaterGuard, the crew attached CleanSpace to the basement walls. Additionally, the old sump pump was replaced with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. On the outside, the crew attached the IceGuard to the discharge line. After all the products were properly installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with their waterproofing transformation. American Waterworks is happy to secure another home's basement. 

A Minnesota City, MN, homeowner had been keeping an eye on her energy bill throughout the summer. She noticed that her AC unit had been continually running, which seemed odd to her. When her bills returned higher than usual, she began to suspect an issue with her crawl space. She began the search for crawl space repairs in Minnesota and eventually found our website. She decided to sign up for our FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Dustin L, headed out to the home.

Dustin completed his inspection and found that the humidity in the space was 68.3% RH. Typically, crawl spaces should be within the 50-60% range. Upwards of 60% can lead to the growth of mold and mildew, which would become precursors for wood rot. Dustin informed the homeowner that we could use several of our products to address the issue. First, Dustin wanted to use CleanSpace and drainage matting. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets adhered directly to to the unfinished walls of the crawl space. It works to trap water entering through the walls, draining it downward to the drainage matting and perimeter drains if applicable. If the CleanSpace had been installed flush with the ground of the space, trapped water wouldn't be able to flow to a disposal site. Drainage matting fis a dimpled layer of plastic that gives water flooding into the space a channel underneath the CleanSpace. In addition to these two products, Dustin recommended our AprilAire dehumidifier. Even a basement with an effective waterproofing system can still develop moisture and mold problems and may feel damp. Adding an Aprilaire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% RH. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan and scheduled the job to be completed several weeks later. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jesus M, and his team installed 660 sqft of CleanSpace, 494 sqft of drainage matting, and 1 AprilAire dehumidifier. Now, our customer can enter the cold months knowing her home is protected from harsh weather conditions!

Heather M. in Ionia, IA had a sump pump that was unable to keep up with the amount of water that needed to be discharged from her basement. Our team installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of her basement, which led to the new TripleSafe sump pump that we installed. The TripleSafe has three layers of protection, so Heather can rest easy knowing that her sump pump will not fail her this time. Once the water is guided to the sump pump, it is then pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Our team also installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier which protects the walls from water seeping in and the potential growth of mold. Loretta K. of Independence, WI had water seeping through her basement cracks. She did some research on our website and filled out our FREE Estimate online form. Our Design Specialist, Charles Haldeman, went to her home to inspect the water problem and come up with a solution. Loretta was comfortable with his proposal, so she set up an installation date. 

Our Foreman, Dylon VanCanneyt, and his production team started the installation by cutting out the concrete perimeter of the basement, forming a trench. Next, our team applied 86 feet of our CleanSpace Wall System around the basement walls, which is made to prevent mold and humidity problems and gives the room a clean and bright appearance. Next, our crew installed our WaterGuard System in the trench, which is designed to collect water seepage from basement walls and acts as an underground drain. Lastly, Dylon and his installed out SuperSump Plus M53 sump pump in the corner. Our sump pumps are made to pump water out fast and efficiently while keeping basements dry for many years. To complete the project, our team filled the open gaps with rock and re-applied new concrete. Loretta was extremely satisfied with the work and her peace of mind is restored! 

Shonna L. in Rollingstone, MN had water seeping into her basement and her old sump pump was not able to keep up with the amount of water coming in. Her basement had become a damp, musty and unlivable space. Our production team started the installation by removing the old sump pump and the concrete around the perimeter of her basement where the WaterGuard drainage system needed to be laid. They installed our TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump. The WaterGuard properly guides the water leaking into her basement to the sump pump. Then, they replaced the concrete over the drainage system and around the sump pump. From there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Shonna can rest easy knowing her basement will always be protected.
