This crawl space was in need of a repair due to the presence of high moisture and humidity levels. These high levels could end up damaging the wooden parts of the crawl space if not accounted for. Luckily, the homeowner caught this situation early on and gave us a call for a free inspection. After we encapsulated the crawl space, the homeowner also noticed their house smelled better and their home air quality had improved. It's safe to say this encapsulation process prevented their home from costly repairs in the future.
This crawl space wasn't in that bad of a shape, but the homeowner knew that over time, the crawl space would end up in bad shape if they did not do something about it. That's when they googled "crawl space solutions", and then they found us online. We suggested encapsulating, insulating, and dehumidifying. We encapsulated with CleanSpace lining, we insulated with SIlverGlo panels, and we dehumidified with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This crawl space will now last a long, long time.
This tiny little crawl space was actually in pretty decent condition before we encapsulated, which is actually pretty rare to see. Most people wait until the last minute, which as we all know, will end up costing more in the long run to repair it when you wait. Although in decent condition, this crawl space was showing signs of rot just barely on the beams near the walls and corners of the crawlspace. It was also not insulated the best, something the customer was concerned about. We installed an encapsulation of CleanSpace drainage and matting around the entirety of the crawl space. We also sprayed foam insulation up near the rim joists where the CleanSpace could not reach. We also installed Foamax on one side of the crawlspace, where the crawlspace was closest to the outside air. All in all this was a smart customer who encapsulated and insulated their crawl space so they could save money on energy bills, rim joists repairs, and more importantly, save the air quality they must live with by blocking out moisture.
This crawl space had gravel all along the floor, which is better than dirt, but still not good enough to skip a moisture barrier. We installed CleanSpace liner across the whole crawl space to keep moisture out, saving the wooden beams from rot. The liner also keeps moldy air out and helps insulate a bit.
